James was a finalist at the Ares Production’s ‘A Night at the Agora 2017’ in Manchester where he performed a piece from ‘The Hideaway’, an original play written by Alfie James. Later that year he was cast in his first West End role in the production of Milked by Simon Longman, directed by Alfie James at The Arts Theatre, London. Early 2018, James was the narrator of the audiobook for the new children’s book “Little George and The Christmas Socks”, written by Joe Malerba which will be released early November on iTunes. In September 2018, James landed the role of The Mind in the new Theatre production of ‘Borderline Electra‘, directed by Stevie Helps and presented by the New Live Theatre Company. Borderline Electra.
The cast starred James Cartmell playing the role of The Mind alongside Claire Nixon who played one of the lead roles of Rachel. The production returned after a sold-out run at The Lowry in January 2018. It is the recipient of five stars by a number of reviews including North West End, VIVA Magazine and Canal Street. This production has been nominated for ‘Best Drama’ at Salford Arts Awards 2018.
